Table

The term “Taku” (卓) is used to describe tables such as dining tables, low tables, and writing desks. In traditional Japanese culture, it also refers to stands used for offerings of incense, flowers, and light. The “Taku” in ITAKURA2.0 is designed to be more than just a table — it is a table that inspires those who gather around it.

卓とは、食卓・座卓・文机などテーブルを表す言葉に使われるほか、日本古来より香・華・灯などを供えるのに使われる机をも意味します。ITAKURA2.0の「卓」は、それを囲む人のインスピレーションを創造する卓としてデザインされています。

Cabinet

The term “Hako” (箱) refers to furniture traditionally used for storing and displaying valuable items, such as tansu chests (a Japanese chest of drawers) and nagamochi storage trunks (a long storage chest). The “Hako” in ITAKURA2.0 embodies the essence of Japanese aesthetics, designed as a box that reflects the beauty of tradition.

箱とは、伝統的な箪笥・長持などのように、大切なものを収納するためや飾るために使われてきた家具を意味します。ITAKURA2.0の「箱」は、その佇まいそのものが日本古来の美意識に通じる箱としてデザインされています。

Counter

The term “Dai” (台) can be found in words like “Daidokoro” (kitchen), “Hanadai” (flower stand), and “Shokendai” (reading stand), signifying furniture that enriches life through eating, appreciating, and learning. The “Dai” in ITAKURA2.0 is designed to expand the possibilities of various lifestyles through its diverse variations.

台とは、台所・花台・書見台などに見られるように、食べる・愛でる・学ぶなど人の生活の楽しみを彩る家具を意味します。ITAKURA2.0の「台」は、そのバリエーションによりさまざまなライフスタイルの可能性が広がる台としてデザインされています。

This sculptural table leg is crafted by bundling eight solid wood panels into a unified, geometric form. Reminiscent of a tree trunk, it offers both graceful presence and structural stability. The warm texture of solid wood is enhanced by a refined dark gray finish, adding understated elegance to any space. Whether used in multiples for a large tabletop or as a single base for a round or compact table, its architectural silhouette and natural material bring depth and character to the design.

Wood-2

This table leg combines solid wood with a natural live edge on the inner side and a halved polished log traditionally used in Japanese architecture. The iconic presence of the log and its rustic texture add warmth and character, while the lower log offers a pleasant tactile experience—even when touched barefoot. The solid wood panels are slightly tilted inward, creating a subtle sense of depth. Finished in a refined dark gray, the piece balances natural charm with understated elegance.

天然のライブエッジを内側に残した無垢材と、日本建築で伝統的に用いられてきた「磨き丸太」を組み合わせた脚部です。丸太の素朴な手触りとアイコニックな存在感が空間に温もりを添え、特に下部の丸太は素足で触れても心地よく、素材のやさしさを感じられます。無垢材はわずかに内側へ傾けて配置されており、視覚的な奥行きと構造の美しさを演出。品のあるダークグレーの仕上げが、素朴さと洗練を絶妙に調和させています。

Crafted with exquisite veneers hand-selected by Itakura, these hexagonal legs possess a sophisticated presence akin to a modern work of art. The integrated melamine sheet serves as a sharp accent, heightening the refined and contemporary impression of the piece. Whether grouped together to form a substantial base or spaced apart to create a rhythmic visual flow, their sculptural form remains impeccably poised in any arrangement. While multiple legs can be paired with a grand tabletop for a dignified look, a single leg supporting a cross-section or mini table equally excels, highlighting the striking contrast between the organic live edge of the wood and the sharp, geometric lines of the base

Artisanal Craftsmanship

Lighting

Vertical Grain

A design that highlights the vertical flow of the wood grain.
One side features glass shelves, creating a balance between the solidity of wood and a sense of lightness. The natural movement of the slab is emphasized, enhancing the beauty of displayed objects.

一枚板の木目を縦方向に生かしたデザイン。片側にガラス棚板を組み合わせ、木の重厚さと透け感が共存する構成に。木の流れを際立たせながら、飾る美しさを引き立てます。

Horizontal Grain

A design crafted from a single solid wood slab, with the upper and lower doors cut from the same piece.
Finished entirely with wooden shelves, it expresses the depth, weight, and calm presence of the material.

一枚の一枚板から上下の扉を切り出し、木目を横方向に大胆に配したデザイン。棚板まで木で仕上げ、素材の量感と奥行きを感じさせる、落ち着いた佇まいが特徴です。

Material

Melamine

A melamine finish with a calm appearance and high durability. It complements the bold presence of solid wood slabs while keeping the overall look refined.

Each solid wood slab is individually finished with a cutting-edge treatment by skilled artisans. While preserving the natural contours of the wood, this handwork creates a rich, sculptural expression.

銘木一枚板に、職人が一点ずつカッティングエッジ加工を施しています。自然の輪郭を活かしながら、手仕事ならではの立体的な表情を生み出します。

Artisanal Craftsmanship

For the decorative solid wood elements, concealed dovetail joinery is applied by hand. This technique allows the grain to flow seamlessly, forming a refined and unified appearance.

銘木一枚板の装飾部分には、隠し蟻組み接ぎによる手加工を採用。木目の流れを途切れさせず、美しく一体化させています。

Live Edge

The live edge of the solid wood slab is preserved along the side panels and legs. The natural outline of the wood can be appreciated as part of the Dai’s sculptural form.

Vertical panels

A symbolic design featuring a bold placement of a solid wood slab along the side. Beyond its function as a counter, this type allows the presence of the slab to be appreciated as a sculptural element.
